Lauren Ornelas

Lauren Ornelas is the founder and executive director of Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.), an organization that works to prevent injustices against animals, people, and the environment by educating and advocating for healthy and ethical food choices. lauren has been active in the animal rights movement for more than 20 years, and I first came across her work watching her TEDx talk, The Power of Our Food Choices.

Our conversation ranges from the often hidden ways food is made to connections between human rights and animal rights, and the power consumers have to influence industries by avoiding foods associated with human or animal exploitation.
