Tommy Rowland
I came across Tucker Slaughter House by way of a small road sign in Durant, Oklahoma. Owned by Tommy Rowland, this business has been in his family for three generations. When I entered I was greeted by a friendly invitation to tour the place just as soon as Tommy helped the customers who were buying meat in his front room. I had a chance to talk with one of the customers while we waited, and then Tommy took me on the tour and I was able to ask him about his feelings about killing animals and the idea of alternatives to eating meat. Other than a look inside the freezers, there are no scenes with animals and there is no footage of slaughter.
